Product Spotlight: L’Oreal Paris HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner

            Hey everyone! If your eyeliner lover, like me, then you will understand my endless hunt for the perfect eyeliner! After getting frustrated with all the eyeliner pencils I had, I decided to branch out and try a different kind of formula, gel/cream eyeliner. For today’s Product Spotlight post, I am going to review the first gel/cream eyeliner I bought which is L’Oreal Paris HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black :)

This cream eyeliner was recommended by my aunt who told me that it an exact dupe for the Mac Fluidline Blacktrack Eyeliner. I was so excited when I purchased it and could not wait to try it. This product consists of a cream gel-like formula that comes in a pretty big glass-like container and a small angle brush to apply the eyeliner. When I first tried it, I honestly did not know how to put it on. I used the angle brush that it provided and I immediately hated the brush. It just was not the best brush quality and was too harsh and ruff on my skin. However, after trying the eyeliner with my own brushes, I fell in love with the cream formula. This eyeliner lasted all day and was a huge difference than the eyeliner pencils I used before. It just glides on smoothly with great pigmentation. I also started to line my waterline with it and loved it. It lasted for a long time and I never had to reapply it.

After using it for awhile, I did notice a few flaws. Firstly, it dries really fast and you cannot intensify the color. Secondly, if it does fade away, it is really hard to go back and retouch on it. Lastly, you cannot smudge it out to do a smoky eye effect.

Although I only bought the black color since I love my black liners, this product does come in other beautiful colors: teal, eggplant, brown, and midnight blue. These colors look amazing and I cannot wait to go out and try them. These eyeliners come with 4.5g/0.159oz of product which is plenty especially compared to other gel eyeliners. I bought mine over two years ago and still have a lot of product left. You can find this product at Wal-Mart, Target, or any other drugstore; and it retails for around $10.00 which is a great price especially for the amount of product you get!

All in all, I give this product 3.7 out of 5. I love to use it on days where I know I will be out all day and I have no time to retouch since it does last a long time on me. I will be repurchasing this product when I ever run out and I recommend this product to anyone since I do feel it is a staple in my makeup collection! It is great for the holiday season where you have so much going on and you have no time to touch up. I hope you found this post helpful and are looking forward to more Product Spotlight posts :)
